1-1 FOLLOW-UP,
WHY WITH ME?

1-1 sessions with me are not 'just'  yoga or mindfulness classes for one person, it is a whole lot more. I have more education, and specializations than most teachers and coaches out there, and combine all my background and experience to build adapted sessions and therapeutic programs you can follow at home, fully tailored to your needs. Here you find more information about the different ways I provide 1.1 follow-up:

1-1 SESSIONS
HOW  DOES IT WORK?

Private classes in yoga or mindfulness are the perfect way to get a tailormade follow-up.

For privates in yoga, I will do a thorough intake assessment of you, your body, and your needs, following Yoga Medicine's guidelines to help assess your goals and priorities for our 1-1 time together, and how I best can help you.

During the first session, we'll go through your intake assessment and if you come to me because you have pain or weakness somewhere we'll probably do some orthopedic tests so I can look at your area of interest, look at your anatomy, how balanced your strength is around joints for example, and discover weaknesses etc. to best understand what would suit you to prioritize working on. I'll give you some movements you also can do at home, and I'll help you with adjustments so you perform them most efficiently, I'll give you tips ecc. depending on what you come to me for.

You can choose to book one session or a package. If a package of several sessions is what you choose to go for, I will follow you each session with different movements to assess how things progress, as well as give you a program to do at home that will be adapted to what you will be able to do (so if you don't have much time don't worry, it's my job to give you something feasible - so it can, for example, be one small thing!). I am also available on wattsapp messages if you have questions between sessions.

Most 1-1 follow-up is done online. Some private classes in person are available in Pavia and could be arranged in Oslo, Milan and Rome.

  • If you have something you are struggling with for example headache, painful periods, or back pain, you can contact me for the therapeutic follow-up that I provide, being a Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist (in training), meaning that I am qualified to use the tools from the yoga world, as well as Myofascial Release, nerve flossing, and other techniques, and draw on my educations and research to build specific programs to help our your individual case. I will use my competence in also Myofascial Release and Nerve flossing to give you the most efficient exercises and movements to work on your challenge, in addition to yoga, breathing and mindfulness techniques.

  • Pre- and postnatal tailored programs to our body and your needs. In addition to

  • Just want me to guide you through a yoga class live that is created for you at a time that suits you? Even if I'm specialized in doing more, if you would rather have us practicing straight away that's fine! I'll make adjustments according to what I see and your goal for our sessions. Maybe you come to me for my long experience in teaching and my special eye for seeing individual anatomy and giving specific and effective cues and adjustments, or you just want me to 'train you' - show up on the mat with me and my encouraging smile and gentle but challenging approach to make sure you get moving, you are also very welcome to contact me for that! In the end, the session is your time - so you decide how you want us to use it.

Maria’s online 1-1 sessions have been one of the consistently good things of this past year and I can highly recommend her online sessions. Maria not only has meticulous attention to detail by which she spots and corrects misalignments, but she also has an innate ability to translate complex information into easily accessible concepts that help you understand false body triggers. She is incredibly generous with her advice and in sharing her knowledge, I have learned so much from her lessons both from a physical and mental point of view and I increased the understanding of my body. Maria puts a lot of emphasis in finding the variations that work best for your own body and she challenges you through different movements to train your brain to help you learn new ways of gaining confidence and master balance in yoga positions. 1-1 MINDFULNESS

Learning Mindfulness in a group context not for you? Or do you want specific advice for your progress and needs?

Learning Mindfulness 1-1 is a great way to discover and deepen your practice, with tailored advice, tips, and motivation to your situation and needs!

Also for Mindfulness, I'll ask you to fill in the intake assessment, so I better can understand your starting point, challenges, what has drawn you to want to learn more about this practice and what your wishes for your sessions together are.

When we establish a Mindfulness practice we often meet obstacles, such as a lack of motivation to get meditation done, or we find it difficult to meditate for a variety of reasons, or may find some meditations more difficult than others, or we find it challenging to bring the practice with us into everyday life. For example, how to apply it in the middle of a heated argument! I have more than 11 years of experience with the practice, and long experience in guiding a variety of people through these types of challenges - so I am here to both understand that what you are facing is probably more normal than you think, and secondly to help you overcome them!

1-1 PAIN MANAGEMENT

Research shows that yoga and mindfulness can be very helpful tools for us to better deal with and also reduce our pain, however, understanding more about why this is, how you can use it and adapt it to your individual case is key. Private classes is the perfect way to get a tailormade follow-up for your individual case and pain so we can find things that works best for YOU. I draw on my experience, and training if different approaches such as Myofascial release, nerve flossing, and 'brain training', as well, according to your case.

Before, and during our first session I will do a thorough intake assessment of you, your body, and your needs, following Yoga Medicine's guidelines to help assess your goals and priorities for our 1-1 time together, and how I best can help you. I will send you an intake assessment form for you to fill in upfront, so I have background info on how to tailor this first session as best as possible beforehand.

You can choose to book one session or a package. If you want the best results a package of several sessions is usually what's best, but if you only wish one session I can still give you some tools, tips and recommendations for what to do at home.

Most 1-1 follow-up is done online. Private classes in person could be available in Oslo and Milan.
